Ditlev and Anita describe Christiania as their "village in the big city". They have lived here since 1986 and 1993, experiencing first-hand what it means to build a community around shared values, while making room for very different people and ways of living.
"It's a colourful life in Christiania. We are different," says Anita.
For them, this diversity is part of what makes Christiania interesting. How do you live together when people don't always agree? How do you balance individual freedom with responsibility to those around you? And how does a community hold onto its values and remain resilient as the world around it changes?
Both have spent much of their lives exploring these questions. Ditlev has worked for decades with conflict resolution, eco-communities and collective decision-making, while Anita brings a perspective rooted in care, creativity and the everyday reality of community life.
About Dinner
Over a homemade vegetarian meal in their Christiania home, Ditlev and Anita will share stories from decades of living in one of Europe's most interesting communities, giving guests an insight into how life together actually works on the ground.
But the conversation isn't only about Christiania. They are interested in what we can learn from it: how we build stronger relationships, create community where we live, and find ways to live together despite our differences.
Come curious, with questions and your own experiences to bring to the table.
SILVERS is a Copenhagen-based platform connecting guests with experienced people over food, stories, and conversation in their homes.
