Yousra grew up in Syria in a home where cooking was at the centre of everyday life. She moved to Denmark at a young age and spent much of her life working as an English teacher while raising a family — always cooking, always caring for people, and always gathering others around food.
Later in life, she followed that thread fully and started Youssra’s Kitchen, her own catering business built around the dishes and traditions she grew up with.
Youssra is full of stories about migration, resilience, food, and community, and brings a warmth to hosting that immediately makes people feel at home.
About Lunch
Spend a Sunday afternoon around Yousra’s table sharing a homemade Levantine lunch inspired by recipes passed down through generations.
First, Yousra tells her story of migration, her love of food and community, and later the conversation will flow naturally around the table. She will prepare a Levantine meal (dishes she learned from her mother and grandmother), including her signature rice dish Al Kapsa and the beloved dessert Warbat.
SILVERS is a Copenhagen-based platform connecting guests with experienced people over dinners and conversations in their homes.
