Youssra grew up in Syria in a home where cooking was at the center of everything. She moved to Denmark as a youngster and spent most of her life working as an English teacher while raising a family - always in the cooking business and always taking care of people.
When she was in her 60s, she decided to follow the thread that had been there all along. She started her own catering business, Youssra's Kitchen, and now cooks full-time from her kitchen, often with music in her ears and the door open.
Youssra has a beautiful way of speaking; she's full of stories about food, migration and resilience, and now she wants to open her kitchen to share them.
About Dinner
First, Youssra tells her story of migration, her love of food and community, and later the conversation will flow naturally around the table. She will prepare a Levantine meal (dishes she learned from her mother and grandmother), including her signature rice dish Al Kapsa and the beloved dessert Warbat.
About SILVERS
