Dinner with Mikael Colville-Andersen at Collectors’ Collective: Art, Ukraine & the Stories Behind the Work

Join Mikael Colville-Andersen for an intimate dinner surrounded by SNAFU: Ukrainian Stories, an exhibition of works created out of his years living and working in Ukraine.

Mikael is an urbanist, author and filmmaker who went to Ukraine in 2022 to volunteer his skills and support Ukrainian cities and communities during the war. His work there has ranged from tactical urbanism to projects focused on trauma recovery, care and everyday life under extraordinary conditions.

He did not go to Ukraine to create art, but art reappeared in his life when he least expected it, and when he needed it the most.

What began as an instinctive response to missile strikes, anxiety and PTSD gradually became a new body of work. The pieces in SNAFU: Ukrainian Stories are rooted in people he met, things they said, moments he experienced, and the absurdity of trying to live an ordinary life while war is unfolding around you.

About the evening

This special SILVERS dinner takes place at Collectors’ Collective. Over dinner, Mikael will introduce the exhibition, share the stories behind the works and open up the conversation around the table about Ukraine, art, memory, resilience and the strange ways creativity can return when you need it most.

Collectors’ Collective

Collectors’ Collective is a Copenhagen-based art community built around a simple idea: collecting art should be social, accessible and a little addictive.

Part gallery, part collectors’ club and part cultural meeting point, Collectors’ Collective brings together emerging and established artists with a growing community of collectors, art lovers and curious newcomers.

Their space functions less like a traditional gallery and more like a shared living room. A space where exhibitions, conversations, parties, studio visits and collecting naturally meet.

They work closely with artists to create exhibitions and experiences that encourage people not only to look at art, but to live with it, talk about it and ultimately take it home.

With a community of 50+ collectors, a growing network of artists and an active programme of exhibitions and events, Collectors’ Collective is building a new kind of art ecosystem, one where the distance between artist, collector and audience becomes smaller.
