Silvers Dinners: Jamaican Food & Stories with Claire

Claire is an artist and lecturer with a background in sustainability, creativity and cross-cultural exchange. Join her for an evening of food at her exciting lakeside house on Østerbro, where you will experience Jamaican food and storytelling.
She is originally from Jamaica but has lived in Denmark for more than three decades. She has been working with recycled materials for over 40 years, mentoring students and bringing people together through hands-on learning. She loves to experiment and her philosophy is simple: “Nine out of ten times it may not work, but once it does, it's better than you could have imagined. “
She is one of the most creative individuals we have been lucky enough to meet in this project and she is always thinking about what she can invent or create from scratch.
At noon
The evening features a homemade Jamaican dinner with savoury and sweet toppings on traditional water biscuits for starters, a vegetarian main course, Jamaican coffee and a simple dessert. You eat together while Claire plays Jamaican music and shares stories from her life in Jamaica.
At some point during the evening (if there is a desire) Claire will move on to lead a small creative activity, a chance to work with her hands, relax and continue the conversation. The atmosphere is informal, curious and marked by Claire's own life experiences and perspective.
ABOUT SILVERS
SILVERS is a platform based in Copenhagen that connects guests with the older generation's knowledge of dinners in their homes. Our Silver hosts include creative individuals, executives and entrepreneurs; others are sailors, community builders or simply amazing hosts with interesting life stories.
What is included
- Access to Claire's Home
- A home-cooked Jamaican meal (some different light dishes, a main, desserts and coffee. You are welcome to bring your own drinks too)
- Time for conversation and crafts

The price covers the cost of hosting (food, access to the host's home, and their time) and operations (developing the SILVERS platform, taxes and growth.)

- Dinner will be in Danish or English, depending on the group.
- Be ready to listen and share.
- Please arrive on time.
- You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages.
