Creativity has always been a constant in Marion's life. She grew up in an artistic household: her father worked as a blacksmith and made sculptures, and her mother made pottery.
Marion has worked professionally in conflict resolution, authoring 14 books on the subject. However, her creative practice has always been present alongside this. Two years ago, she chose to focus on it more and opened her studio in central Copenhagen.
But what interests Marion most is not the finished artwork, but how it comes to be. She is particularly drawn to portraits and to capturing movement and life in them.
Marion often reflects on how creativity fades for many people over time.
“Most people have experience of art as children,” she says, “but around the age of ten or eleven they stop because they get scared of other people's opinions. “
Her open house invites people to reconnect with that early curiosity.
About Open House
Marion opens her studio to an open house focusing on artistic process. An afternoon of rediscovering curiosity, over coffee, cake, and port wine.
Guests are invited to explore works in progress and hear how ideas evolve into visual work. Marion tells how artists observe the world, experiment with materials and learn to trust their eye.
During the evening, guests will also take part in a sketching exercise - not to create something perfect, but to experience the process for themselves.
- Access to Marion's studio and artworks in central Copenhagen
- Coffee, cake, wine and conversation
- A practical sketching exercise (take home your work!)
- This event will take place in Danish
- Please arrive on time and come curious!
